Fort Wayne Youth Soccer Inc. is a not-for-profit, 501(c)3 organization that provides a recreational soccer program for players ages 3-14 from the greater Fort Wayne area. The goal of the recreational program is to foster a fun, safe environment that’s rich in values and tradition where all players can learn the game of soccer.
The recreational program is a fun and affordable way to introduce your child to the game or give them an opportunity to play the game they already know and love. Our coaching staff is committed to building players’ confidence and individual ability, while simultaneously reinforcing and cultivating teamwork and a sense of community.
We don’t record game scores in the recreational program because winning and losing are not among our chief objectives. We want to give each player an opportunity to find his or her passion for sport and have fun in the process. If players demonstrate the ability to compete at a higher level and they have the desire to do so, we have programs that fit their needs as well.
Matt Hein is the Recreational Technical Director. He is a former All-American, professional player, State Youth Coach of the Year, and he holds a National Youth License. Matt is one of the most sought-after youth coaches in the state because of his unrelenting passion for coaching the game and helping players at all levels improve and build confidence. As the Recreational Technical Director, Matt designs and coaches each training session.
Stephanie Hein is the Recreational Coordinator. She manages all of the paperwork, fees, state registrations, compliances, and communications.
The Recreational Program hires adult, college, and high school players (in their off seasons) to help with the program. All have many years of experience playing and coaching soccer.
