What is Scrip?
Gift certificates or gift cards, purchased by you from Fort Wayne Sport Club Youth Soccer for their face value to redeem at hundreds of different retailers.
Rebates
FWSCYS purchases these certificates or cards at various discounts. That discount is called a rebate.
What's in it for me?
Of the rebate dollar amount, FWSCYS will keep 20% for administrative fees. Player accounts are credited with the remaining 80% of the rebate dollar amount to be used toward team fees.

The following table makes some assumptions. That your family purchases $100 in groceries per week, $25 in gas per week and spends $10 for fast food (or something else at your house) per week:

Scrip Guidelines
- 1. One night a week will be designated as Scrip Night at the Sport Club. We will attempt to keep it the same night of the week, but be aware we may need to make changes for various reasons. Scrip Night is the night of the week that orders from the previous week may be picked-up and orders for the following week may be dropped-off.
- a. You may order online as well. Once setup to do so, please make note that any orders placed before 8:00 pm on Tuesday, will be available for pick-up the following weeks Scrip Night. Any order placed after 8:00 pm on Tuesday, may not be available until the 2nd following Scrip Night.
- i. A placed order is one that shows what scrip is desired and FULL PAYMENT FOR THAT ORDER.
- b. If you order online, your order goes to the Scrip Administrator for approval. No order will be approved until payment has been received.
- 2. Rebate percentages vary per retailer. As a result, so will the rebate dollar amounts. Of the rebate dollar amount, 80% is credited to the designated player account to use toward team fees. The remaining 20% goes to Fort Wayne Sport Club Youth Soccer. A portion of the 20% will be used for administrative costs for the scrip program, with the rest being used by FWSCYS as the board deems appropriate. If no player name is designated, 100% of the rebate will go to FWSCYS.
- 3. Some of the scrip cards are reloadable, meaning you make your initial purchase of the card with the required denomination, and then you may reload the card with the dollar amount you wish. There are different criteria for different cards.
- a. National cards that may be reloaded from Great Lakes Scrip Company may be done with your online purchases. When you reload these cards, they will not have the money on them until the Scrip Coordinator has approved the purchase, which will only be done once payment has been received. Reload cards purchased from GLSC may only be reloaded online by the user.
- b. Local cards or scrip that has been arranged by FWSCYS may be reloaded at there store. Current examples are Kroger and Lassus.
- i. Lassus scrip MAY NOT be reloaded with a credit card. Cash or check only.
- ii. Kroger tracks usage. If they feel that people are using the card and throwing it away rather than reloading it at the store, they will shut off our privilege of using their scrip.
- iii. Both of these companies send monthly statements of reload dollar amounts. Therefore, your credit may be as many as two months behind. We can only account for what we have received conformation of having been spent. Thank you for your patience regarding this issue.
- 4. Payment by cash or check is accepted. Please make checks payable to FWSCYS and put Scrip in the memo section. A $30 charge will be issued for all returned checks. The first occurrence by a family will result in the $30 charge plus payment for the scrip ordered. The second occurrence will result in the $30 charge, payment for the scrip ordered in cash and a check will not be accepted going forward for payment.
